First Coast Heart & Vascular Center is a larger cardiology, cardiovascular, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology practice spanning throughout Northeast Florida. This position will be for someone to work full-time within our Palm Coast office, with an option to split time at St. Augustine office (if interested, not required). Our practice continues to grow and with that comes the demand for growth for this position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Medical Office Front Desk performs the administrative duties of the facility. They are responsible for moving the patients through the intake and checkout process. The Medical Office Front Desk must ensure that all procedures, from pulling the correct patient files to charting insurance information, are closely followed so that the medical team can concentrate on the well-being of the patients. The Medical Office Front Desk must interact smoothly with the back-office personnel as well.
Specific Medical Office Front Desk Job Duties:
- This is a full-time position.
- Position requires knowledge of EMR and Practice Management software as the company is completely electronic. Prior working experience with AllScripts and/or Athena a big plus.
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Screen calls, arrange appointments and referrals.
- Prepares new records, files, and maintains records.
- Prepare billing packets for each day for billing.
- Perform insurance verifications.
- Take clear and concise phone messages.
- Schedule and confirm appointments with patients daily.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles and inquire on previous balances.
- Prepare charts for the next day.
- Maintain order and file charts.
- Create new patient packets.
- Maintain inventory and submit front office supply order to the supervisor.
- Keep the front area neat and tidy at all times.
- Copy medical information as requested following proper procedures.
- Distribute mail.
- Distribute incoming reports and correspondence and files in patient charts or presents to professional staff.
The working hours and days are fairly standard approximately 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Overtime is afforded as approved and needed. Competitive benefits packages include supplemented health insurance, 401k, paid time off, holiday days off with pay and other benefits.
