Summary 
The Senior Automation Engineer will setup, and maintain automation framework in a rapidly growing organization. As well as perform ambiguity reviews of business and software requirements, execute tests, log defects, and report test metrics and test status to the project teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Your deliverables as a Sr. Automation Engineer may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Basic Qualifications

•    Set up, maintain, and test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms, such as Desktop, and Web, and building test scenarios. 
•    Experience programming using Java, Python and/or .NET.
•    Experience with selenium or other software testing technologies
•    Experience with automated testing of API's, user interface, and data validation
•    Conduct automation test runs for functional and regression testing. 
•    Participate in code coverage/test coverage analysis to increase test coverage 
•    Participate in performance testing. • Understanding the flow of code and how it interacts with different components.
•    Understand project documents, customer demands, and product objectives to create and execute test cases. 
•    Investigate customer problems referred to you by technical teams, testing bugs, and creating and managing bug reports.
•    Handle technical communications and understanding the customers' needs.
•    Work with deployments teams, resolving level issues for systems, coordinating on product design, and offering inputs on the testability of functional elements and product designs.
•    Note all testing actions you have performed in daily and weekly reports. 
•    Research test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes.
•    Lead and coordinate testing efforts 
•    Define and own the QA processes and strategies in an Agile development environment.
•    Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and core Computer Science concepts
•    Strong verbal & written skills
•    Strong analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:

•    Extensive technical skills through demonstrated roles in software development, test automation and performance engineering
•    Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
•    Programmatically test the product, measure test coverage, develop the sustainable automation, drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product, while promoting best practices in quality areas
•    Multiple project experiences with extensive DevOps practices in an agile environment
•    Software and/or Test Automation Development experience in a CI/CD environment
•    5 years test automation experience including RESTful APIs/Services, Functional Testing, Performance Testing and Load Testing
•    Demonstrated ability to own, design, lead and implement test strategies for complex applications and deployment topologies
•    Experience with test strategy and execution of Web, Mobile and Desktop systems
•    Can juggle testing of multiple projects with multiple development teams
•    Exposure to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Test Automation
•    Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques. ISTQB certification a plus

Education and/or Experience Bachelor/master’s degree in computer science discipline or equivalent.  7 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Quality Engineer, or as an SDET.  Understanding and have worked in an Agile environment, changing an organization to Agile is a plus.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.  Demonstrated ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  

Mathematical Skills: Demonstrated ability to translate data into quantifiable actions/deliverables. Ability to understand project and product KPIs, and translate those to test cases.   

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced skills in MS Office, familiarity with digital help tools, experience with various automated testing software

Product Design:  Working experience in design, development, and implementation of product plans.  Working experience in full product lifecycle methodologies.  Working knowledge of Product specialty/job area, principles, concepts, and practices.

Other Skills:  Working experience in creating, prioritizing, and recommending epics and features.  Experience conducting competitive research and analysis.  Demonstrated experience in a collaborative, cross-function team environment.
