What are the responsibilities and job description for the Syndicated and Participated Loan Servicing Analyst position at First Merchants Bank?
This position can be fully remote within our 10 state footprint - Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, Kansas, Louisiana or Kentucky.
Position Goals:
The ideal candidate in this position would fulfill First Merchant's mission by providing high performing, knowledgeable, and responsive service to our internal commercial line of business, as well as establish and maintain positive relationships with the back office teams at our external bank partners' Agency Services divisions. This will include at a minimum the following; project development and tracking, regular communication with internal and external partners, facilitation of customer support through various operational resources, and providing timely resolution to an assortment of client needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the new and evolving Commercial Loan request case submission process.
- Research tickets and assign / facilitate resolution.
- Provide timely resolution to issues utilizing good time management and prioritization skills through effective communication including emails, meetings, and Case notes with submitters and responsible parties.
- Support the Commercial Sales team and the Debt Capital Markets team by extending the FMB Mission to Partner Banks through relationship building with back office support teams at other institutions. This role will be the primary point of contact for all interbank operations and servicing related needs including but not limited to the following:
- Introductory calls; off-site meetings; core system and process discussions, payoff planning, and discrepancy research.
- Assist other loan operations personnel with onboarding, funding, and quality review of new multibank facilities.
- Provide intradepartmental transactional support as needed.
- Transaction entry or approval, wire submission, loan history research, etc.
- Could provide more detailed and lengthy research and analysis on complex transactions.
- As the unit grows, other support responsibilities may be added as they are deemed necessary by management.
- Recognize and document opportunities for improvement.
- Use DMAIC methodology to improve processes when possible.
- Discern when process improvement might require full project initiative and escalate to appropriate personnel.
Position Requirements:
Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience - A minimum of four (4) years of loan administrative or operations experience, preferably in commercial loans.
Other - A minimum of four (4) years of customer service experience in the financial services industry.
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree.
Lean Six Sigma - Yellow Belt Certified.
