Job Summary:
At First Nick Companies, we are seeking an experienced Bilingual HR Manager who embodies our core values of Family, Respect, Honesty, Hardworking, and Passion. This individual will oversee our human resources department and be responsible for managing all aspects of our HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and HR compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection of qualified candidates.
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure compliance with onboarding procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Manage benefits administration, including open enrollment, claims processing, and employee education.
- Process payroll accurately and on time using ADP Workforce Now and oversee one HR staff member responsible for payroll administration.
- Process workers' compensation claims and maintain a safe work environment.
- Facilitate State Training Grant program and employee development.
- Conduct investigations into workplace complaints and allegations of discrimination or harassment.
- Serve as a liaison between employees and management and facilitate effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Stay current on HR trends and best practices and recommend changes or improvements to current policies and procedures.
- Report BRJP and section 3 hours to the city of Boston and other required cities.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
- 3-5 years of HR experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages
- SHRM certification is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in construction is a plus, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations in the state of Massachusetts
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll processing
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
