A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A LEAD FIELD TECHNICIAN
As the Lead Field Technician, I will provide emergency restoration and disaster recovery services to residential and commercial clients by directing and participating in the work performed by Field Technicians and Labor Sub-Contractors. With my various certifications, IICRC, WRT, FSRT, ASD, and AMRT I am already comfortable with communicating project needs to the Restoration Supervisor or Project manager. I also assist with tracking expenses and time for each project, complete crew sheets, room specifics, pictures, and daily field reports in the absence of the Restoration Supervisor, and direct potential biohazard projects while ensuring safety protocol.
I am also known to direct and participate in the following water, fire, and mold remediation processes; set up equipment for drying structures, Load and unload building materials, machinery, and tools, Provide physical labor on building and construction projects and demolition sites, assists the team when needed on all service lines, clean and prepare job sites while maintaining a safe environment, complete crew sheets for daily work performed, vehicle maintenance - cleaned, stocked, ready for response, and ensure Field Technicians adhere to all safety protocols!
I understand that I must pass a "fit test" for proper fit of respirator which could involve shaving facial hair and that the job sites will be dirty, possibly cold, or wet, and sometimes unsanitary. My DOT certification will allow me to operate certain vehicles so I can be available for emergency work after hours and on weekends including on-call shifts. Many times, my travel will be locally, regionally, or nationally as business needs dictate!
