What are the responsibilities and job description for the Feed Mill Intern position at First Resources Corp?
JOB PURPOSE
Feed Mill Interns will learn about feed mill management. Interns will interact and work with each team and will also be given a project to work on throughout the summer. The training period will be 10 weeks and will take place in Guymon, OK.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Rotate through each area of the mill (scale house, receiving, control room, dispatch, inventory, clerical, feed accounting, feed ordering, etc.) to gain knowledge of each department.
- Understand the flow of all materials, incoming and out-going, and the standard operating procedures of all areas of the feed mill.
- Operate all areas of the feed mill and completely understand automation system.
- Meet production targets and maintain quality control as well as upkeep, and sanitation of property, equipment, and vehicles.
- Maintain collaborative working relationship with supervisors, peers, subordinates, internal and external customers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college
- Coursework or experience in feed milling or manufacturing.
- Feed science degree or feed mill, grain elevator or related work experience preferred but not required.
- Good critical thinking and judgement skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people such as employees, managers, and senior management.
- Flexible and able to work on assigned weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
