Responsibilities in Accordance with Our Corporate Values
The Claims Coordinator will serve as agency resource for claim expertise, acts as a carrier liaison, and contributes to the claims handling process, supports customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Responsible for in-house claims’ tracking activity and loss ratio reporting and working with agency management to ensure maximization of contingency income. Coordinates activities with Regional Sales teams, carrier claim representatives, and clients for support with claim and loss mitigation activities.
Professionalism
- Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills with clear, effective communication, and timely responsiveness.
- Performs in-house claims processing functions as needed, coordinates in-house loss mitigation services.
- Acts as a liaison between carriers and insureds on complicated claims for large customer relationships.
- Responsible for customer segmentation in handling claims and service center decisioning.
Accountability
- Oversees claims processes related to customer contact, loss reporting, agency drafts, where available and when needed, and file maintenance.
- Processes and routes incoming phone calls, faxes and mail as needed and maintains a list of all open claims and reserves.
- Primarily responsible for large claims handling and managing carrier reserves; keeps agency management apprised of all significant claims, reserves and potential losses and regularly reports to management and those responsible for marketing and contingency income reporting of loss and reserve status on key carrier relationships.
Initiative
- Document all transactions, activities, and communications in agency management system.
- Keep abreast of industry, compliance, and market changes by attending company meetings and continuing education classes as required and/or approved by Management Team.
- Maintain confidentiality in all dealings with clients and within the agency.
Adaptability
- Travel required. Valid Driver’s license. Clean driving Record.
- Attend agency and department meetings as directed by management.
- All other job duties as assigned by Management Team.

Qualifications
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Punctual with a strong attendance history.
- Minimum of 10 years of claims experience.
- High School diploma / GED
- Must possess and maintain P&C Insurance License
- Must obtain and maintain professional designation relevant to the position.
- Must attend to continuing education to continue to grow industry knowledge.
