What are the responsibilities and job description for the SafeGround Program Director position at First Step Communities?
Summary: The SafeGround Program Director is responsible for the management and direction of all employees and operations at First Step Communities (FSC) SafeGround site(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the hiring, training, developing, and managing of all shelter staff, in collaboration with FSC leadership.
Be available during shelter hours to consult in emergency situations, in collaboration with the SafeGround leadership Team.
Collaborate with the Case Management Supervisor, and FSC Services Director, to establish and maintain client services expectations and delivery for all SafeGround clients.
Provide regular supervision for all direct reports.
Participate and engage with partner organizations within our community and the homeless service continuum.
Establish and maintain client community meetings; strengthen and formalize client feedback.
Direct and consult shelter staff and supervisors on best practices in general and for specific incidences.
Ensure we meet our data collection and reporting needs and mandates: daily shift reports, completion of intakes, daily client safety logs, and other tracking systems used by SafeGround, as well as program related data required by our funders.
Participate in standing management meetings and facilitate standing meetings for your team.
Provide prompt daily responses to questions and needs that arise during shelter hours, in collaboration with the Leadership Team.
Work with SafeGround staff and volunteers in maintaining the shelter facility and inventory of shelter supplies, cleaning and organizing, and logging in-kind donations.
As part of the leadership team, establish and maintain strong working relationships with funders, external partners, and community members as required.
Provide updates and shelter data for funder reporting, board meetings and/or as requested by the Chief Operating Officer or Executive Director
Represent the agency publicly as needed.
Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer or Executive Director.
Regular, predictable attendance is required.
Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises the Client Service Associates (CSAs) and site/shift supervisors on-site at SafeGround. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and providing oversight for SafeGround program operations.
