Become an Office Clerk for First Transit!
The Office Clerk will assists in the performance of administrative functions in the department and location. They'll interfaces with customers, vendors, and internal departments and ensure accurate accounting records for receipts and/or disbursements. He or/She will perform a variety of complex clerical and entry-level bookkeeping, accounting and payroll tasks, apply accepted procedures in the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records, and preparing financial, statistical, and/or technical reports.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manifest data entry- expectation is that manifests are keyed and reconciled in Trapeze accurately on a daily basis.
- Prepares daily reports and management required reports. Ensure data entry is keyed timely in order to assure reports are completed on a daily basis.
- Record subcontractor hours and mileage in order to prepare the DBE report. This report is to be completed by Tuesday of each week.
- Prepare month end reporting in Trapeze. Collect month-end reports from other managers. Submit completed month end to supervisor for review and approval.
- Key payroll on a daily basis into the payroll system as well as other payroll documentation as needed. Understand and be able to articulate all policies and procedures related to daily payroll.
- Process all passenger complaints within three business days. This includes GPS and telephone recording research as needed to answer the complaint.
- Respond to inquiries from employees, location management, Corporate employees, and outside vendors, regarding manifest related issues. Provide appropriate documentation and follow-up.
Experience & Skills Required:
- High School degree, some college preferred.
- Must be able to work with minimal instruction, but willing to accept and take direction.
- Prior experience with the use of modern business applications and skills. (Knowledge of internet applications, networks, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
