About you:
You set the tone for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touchpoints. As our resident wordsmiths, you work with a variety of UX design-related jobs including business analyst, product managers, engineers, marketing, and customer operations to help establish connective language and a unified voice.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal and informal user research and testing of in-progress work, and assist in the implementation of user-based testing to provide optimization of existing applications; produce detail oriented research reports
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand and identify requirements and customer needs.
- Effectively collaborate with product managers, project team members, and other stakeholders to understand product vision and customer needs while validating requirements.
- Lead design of the website and mobile application design.
- Drive technical product design development from a user experience, user interface, and usability standpoint
- Collaborate with UX developers, product teams, and researchers to craft end to end solutions across a variety of contexts, including UI components, to editorial content, to help text
- Build interactive prototypes and mockups to effectively communicate the design patterns, product architecture and component functionality to internal and external team members, and to influence adoption and creation of new User Interface (UI) patterns
- Produce a range of deliverables, from short feature descriptions and configuration examples to full user guides.
- Interact with Subject Matter Experts to efficiently gather information with the goal of becoming an expert on the subject you document.
- Translate engineering documents into prescriptive content that enables customers to implement the scenarios in their own networks.
- Design, develop, deliver, and maintain customer-facing, best-in-class user documentation.
- Create customer-centered user assistance content that enhances the user experience and adds value to our software products.
- Analyze specifications and product descriptions and recommend the best documentation approach.
- Follow established style and process guidelines to provide consistency and completeness.
- Quickly and iteratively create user flows, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications.
- Use storyboarding, task analysis, competitive analysis, card sorting, and other user research tasks to capture and design for user requirements.
- Follow an agile process and participate in daily scrums, planning, and lead design reviews
- Conduct research using a wide range of research methods - remote and in person, unmoderated research, surveys, diary studies and ethnography
- Strong written and verbal communications and experience working with content in multiple mediums.
- Design, write, and edit technical and process documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the content you create and develop.
Job Requirements:
- 3 years of design experiences in agile environment
- 3 years of ability to quickly turn around wireframes and mockups and other communication artifacts in an agile, iterative environment.
- 3 years of experience as a user experience writer or similar role.
- 4 years of technical writing in an agile environment.
- 2 years of experience independently driving the design review cycle and closing on design requirements.
- 3 years of experience with Lean UX
- 2 or more years of experience with Agile UX
- Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating well thought through and polished end to end customer journeys, UX and UI designs,
- Working knowledge of Atlassian tools used to track tasks and share information for project team (specifically: Jira and Confluence)
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Experience using technical writing tools and workflows is a must.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and an understanding of other online presentation techniques is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with authoring tools such as XML, HTML, Markdown, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communications and experience working with content in multiple mediums.
- Experience with UX writing for complex workflows in software products
- Experience working with user research and analyzing customer feedback
- Be an advocate for visual, functional and interaction flow consistency with an awareness of when to apply our standards vs moments to add to or evolve those guidelines
- Excellent concept, digital creative strategy, design, layout, color, composition, brand, UI/UX, typography, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
- Experienced in assisting Product owner(s) with scrum meetings and sprint reviews
- Familiar with both backend and frontend development
- Mortgage Industry experience is a plus.
- Experience working in an agile software development environment is a plus
- Experience creating screencasts and videos is a plus.
- Experience documenting APIs is a plus.
- Experience in security / public cloud environments is a plus
