Job Title Sr. Manager Databases Sr. Manager - Database Team at Clover About The Team At Clover's heart, our Database team plays a pivotal role within the broader Infrastructure setup. Entrusted with the management, scaling, and maintenance of substantial SQL deployments in the cloud, this unit drives the company's database future. With a keen eye on emerging cloud technologies that promise scalability, efficiency, and performance enhancements, this team doesn't just work in silos. It collaborates. As part of an engineering guild, they co-design database strategies with fellow developers, ensuring our technology stack and performance are second to none. What You Will Do Establish team goals and ensure their alignment with Clover's broader objectives. Coach and mentor team members, fostering their growth and development. Conduct performance reviews and set clear, measurable targets for improvement. Liaise proactively with peers within the Infrastructure division and engage external stakeholders to streamline operations. Address emerging issues, be an active participant in incident management, and chart out the strategic and operational direction for the team. What You Will Need To Have A BS in Computer Science or Computer Science Engineering (MS would be a cherry on top!). A solid 5 years diving deep into databases, SQL, and a touch of SaaS solutions. 3 years donning the managerial cap, leading a squad of at least five engineers. A good grasp of the capabilities offered by major Cloud providers. A demonstrable understanding of Network constructs and the intricacies of Network security.
