Responsible for all accounting controls and procedures throughout the Fisher Island Club, Inc. Provides the CFO with data regarding balance sheet and P & L positions. . While the following information should be considered a comprehensive description of this position, it should also be noted that some responsibilities and duties may not be specifically addressed. Fisher Island Club, Inc. emphasizes a team approach and fully expects every person to perform any reasonable task or request that is consistent with fulfilling company objectives. The Director of Finance is expected to strive for continuous improvements in efficiency, accuracy, high productivity, employee morale and positive resident and guest relations to ensure the highest standards of service and maximum profitability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Control and oversee the Fisher Island Club, Inc. financial operation to ensure compliance with the set accounting procedures, budget and operating policies.
- Production of all financial statements and reports in a timely manner.
- Advise CFO of financial position at all times and assist in accounting and legal issues.
- Ensure that Fisher Island Club, Inc. is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
- Develop, implement, evaluate and update internal control procedures to maximize revenues and minimize expenses.
- Establish proper procedures throughout Fisher Island Club, Inc. in compliance with Fisher Island Club, Inc. standards.
- Maintain and control cash flow and bank accounts.
- Interview, hire, train, supervise and evaluate department staff in accordance with Fisher Island Club, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Maintain and control Fisher Island Club, Inc. licenses and permits licenses for the entire Fisher Island Club, Inc. and grounds.
- Prepare annual budget and monthly forecasts for management.
- Maintain the technical and operational aspects of Fisher Island Club, Inc. back office computer system.
- The timely and accurate production of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- The timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts to supporting detail information.
- Maintain courteous communication with the members and representatives of other companies.
- It is the Director of Finances responsibility to know and adhere to all federal, state and local laws, as well as all policies and procedures contained in the manuals issued by Fisher Island Club, Inc. or as otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to site employees.
- Order supplies within established budgeted guidelines, following purchase order procedures.
- Maintain general office and vendor files.
- Compliance with internal accounting controls as prescribed by Fisher Island Club, Inc. accounting policies and procedures.
- Assists the CFO in the review and analysis of Fisher Island Club, Inc.’s financial position, utilizing various managerial reports available through the property’s accounting system.
- Ensures timely payment of all periodic expenditures, i.e. leases, notes and the like.
- Strictly monitors and controls the collection and disbursement of property funds and the resulting cash balances to ensure positive cash position at all times.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the financial support systems necessary to produce all financial statements and managerial reports.
- Ensures timely filing and payment with appropriate governing bodies of all annual property taxes and all monthly, quarterly and yearly payroll, sales and use taxes.
- Audit assets, maintenance procedures and safety practices in all areas to ensure a secure, safe environment is maintained.
- Liaise with all other department staffers concerning daily programming and scheduling.
- Adheres to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to property policies.
- Ensures that resident and guest service is maintained at or above levels and that criticisms are dealt with in a professional, expedient and positive manner.
- Comply with all policies and standard operating procedure of the property.
- Demonstrates respect, sensitivity and concern for members’ and guests’ needs in a professional manner..
- Comply with company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the property’s facilities.
- Support company and department goals of continuous improvement and learning by attending courses provided by the property.
- Perform tasks in a team-based environment.
- Adhere to all written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, all of which make up the essential functions of the job.
- Attend all weekly staff meetings and monthly departmental meetings and general meetings.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of Fisher Island Club, Inc. In addition, attendance at all scheduled skill development sessions and Fisher Island Club, Inc. departmental meetings are required.
- Professionally represent Fisher Island Club, Inc. at all times during shifts and/or when on property grounds for job related issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Constant need to communicate over telephone and in person with vendors, staff, members and prospects.
Position Requirements:
- Must demonstrate effective English communication skills when dealing with Fisher Island Club, Inc. members, guests and employees.
- Must demonstrate ability to read and follow written and verbal English communication.
- Must be able to work independently and exercise judgment to resolve personnel and production issues that arise during daily operations.
- Must be able to create and write reports.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately.
- Must be able to calculate percentages, ratios and proportions.
- Must possess mobility to move through all areas of Fisher Island Club, Inc.
- Must be able to use a computer and packaged programs.
- Because of the fluctuating demands of Fisher Island Club, Inc.’s operation, it may be necessary that each team member perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to assist others when the occasion arises. Accordingly, this individual may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years as a Director of Finance, Controller and or as an Assistant Controller, preferably with a private Club, Resort or Hotel background.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand up to 7 hours per day. Length of time of these tasks may vary.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Use of full range peripheral vision to complete forms, read and review reports, wide variety of correspondence, view computer screen. Frequent need to see small detail.to see things clearly beyond arm’s reach (inspecting property)
- Must have finger dexterity to be able operate equipment such as multi-line tone phones and other general operating and/or office equipment.
