A 118-year old hunting and fishing club in Irons, Michigan is looking for a couple to serve as Property Managers.
The Club has 27 members and encompasses approximately 600 acres, which includes 6 miles of river (both sides). There is a two bedroom managers’ house. There is also a central lodge, which includes a member dining room and commercial kitchen, as well as two separate member lodges (one each for men and women) which can sleep up to a total of 37 people. Both of the member lodges are new construction (women’s 2015, and men’s 2021). The Club is open to member use from approximately April 15 to December 31, but usually officially closes for meal service in mid-to-late October.
The Property Managers will have the option to live year-round in the provided house. The main responsibilities of the managers are building upkeep and maintenance, property patrol, providing 3 meals daily to members and guests, and general daily housekeeping of the buildings. Busiest times of the year are the weekends in June and July.
The managers’ income consists of a monthly management fee, and the proceeds (including gratuity) from the meal service provided to the members and guests. The club managers are also typically awarded a discretionary year-end bonus.
