Department Overview:
As part of the broader Chief Data Office (CDO) group, the Emerging Technology team’s mandate is to coordinate and catalyze the adoption of disruptive AI, machine learning, and robotic process automation solutions across the Fitch Group.
Join the Emerging Technology team to implement natural language projects and scale out production of financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of present-day NLP/NLG/AI/ML capabilities and strong business analysis skills in identifying appropriate solutions to help address business’ needs and improve operational efficiencies. Experience in financial services is strongly desired. Individual must have strong passion to automate, innovate, and immerse oneself in data to extract meaningful insights.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead NLG focused workstreams to automate and scale out financial reporting using Natural Language Generation technology.
- Work collaboratively with business partners to identify and document logic for desired output.
- Leverage language skills to identify alternative but impactful expressions for conveying information.
- Gain keen understanding of underlying data and methodologies. Source and map the data. Determine proper computation of metrics.
- Build and extend NLG model/software capabilities.
- Partner with internal engineering teams to integrate models into production systems.
- Devise testing strategies. Ensure accuracy in AI-generated narratives.
- Leverage Natural Language Processing to analyze and extract language patterns and data.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in finance, economics, math or data science
- 3 years of professional experience in data analytics (such as work experience with Business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc., and reporting)
- SQL and noSQL database expertise
- Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills
- Experience with Python, NLP, and ML
- Creative problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented style of work
- Love working with text and language related challenges!
Nice to Have
- Strong understanding of the credit ratings and the financial business. Knowledge of key financial and economic factors that drive the business in a particular sector would be very useful.
