We are looking for a Risk Intelligence Specialist to support compliance capabilities for our risk intelligence team. This position will work closely with the team’s data lead and the Director of Risk Intelligence to perform searches within our client’s ecosystem and find/block individuals and entities who may be accessing the client’s technologies in violation of US, EU, UK and other sanctions and restrictions.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience in an office environment and a strong ability to self-manage assigned workflows in a remote environment. The ability to write scripts/queries independently is not required, but candidates should have either prior exposure to SQL and Excel to query and report from complex databases. Additionally, some understanding of/familiarity with financial regulations and regulatory bodies is strongly preferred.

This is a remote role and may be seated anywhere in the US, however significant overlap with core hours in the Pacific time zone may be required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize existing templates to conduct searches of clients’ ecosystems
  • Support research into sanctioned entities which may be present in the client’s ecosystem
  • Observe/utilize best practices and standard documentation; evangelize standard procedures to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate
  • Execute documentation updates and dissemination of updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide ad-hoc and regular reporting
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned or otherwise necessary
  • Learn and execute tasks independently and in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Attend virtual internal, client-facing, and vendor meetings
  • Identify potential operational challenges caused by known variables
  • Interact and communicate effectively with clients and internal partners, in alignment with the expectations of a professional environment
  • Consistently deliver against strict deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with SQL and Excel for reporting and analytics
  • General understanding of financial regulations, ideally including knowledge of sanctions and other economic and foreign policy tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Skills

  • Foreign language capabilities (Russian preferred)

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1 years of professional work experience in an administrative function

Wage and Benefits

The full range for this level and function within FiveBy is $42,830 – $64,244. These ranges are applicable for the labor market of the Greater Seattle Area. It is common for FiveBy to start employees below the midpoint of the range. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' unique qualifications and experience.

FiveBy employees are eligible to participate in FiveBy’s group medical, dental, and vision insurance plans. FiveBy covers 100% of monthly premiums for individual employees – additional qualifying beneficiaries may be added at the expense of the sponsoring employee. FiveBy also provides 401k with employer matching, 120 hours of PTO annually (pro-rata for hourly employees), and 10 paid holidays per year.
