Job description
*Training Wage $23.74, plus frequent increases as you progress through training
*$24.77 after training is completed
*PLUS: Longevity increases, shift differentials, COLA, step increases
*Pay incentives for experienced Public Safety Dispatchers
*SCHEDULE FLEXIBILITY REQUIRED
This position usually qualifies for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

Responsibilities:
- Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from the public
- Dispatch appropriate personnel and resources to incidents
- Monitor and track the status of units in the field
- Provide accurate and timely information to callers and responders
- Maintain detailed records of all calls, incidents, and actions taken
- Coordinate with other agencies and departments as necessary
- Use computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems to enter and retrieve information
- Operate radio, telephone, and other communication equipment
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
Experience:
- No experience necessary
- Familiarity with law enforcement or other emergency services procedures is a plus
- Proficiency in using phone systems, including multi-line phones and headsets
- Typing skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
- Strong conflict management skills to handle difficult callers or situations
- Ability to perform accurate data entry while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with callers, responders, and other agencies
- Strong analytical skills to quickly assess situations and make informed decisions
