The Freight Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the freight team and the process of sorting, preparing and staging inbound freight for the efficient stocking of the store.
- Plan and prioritize the freight team’s daily activities & assign daily tasks.
- Train, coach, mentor, and supervise the freight team.
- Receive, sort, prepare and stage freight for morning stocking team. Ensure that all freight is processed and floor ready by end of shift.
- Supervise backroom organization, conditions and ensure back stock remains “count ready.”
- Coordinate with Stocking and warehouse Team Lead(s) and Store Support Center on Door to Floor(D2F) operations.
- Receive pallets, totes, and items from the distribution center.
- Utilize the Freight Team to stock items based on business needs.
- Execute down stocking procedures as needed.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of retail logistics or warehouse/logistics supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to be certified to operate a forklift.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and build relationships in an environment of fast change.
- Must be able to direct and motivate a diverse population that includes full- time and part-time Team Members.
- Demonstrated ability to act decisively, implementing solutions, multi-task and respond flexibly in a quickly changing environment.
- Primary work hours will be in the evenings, however, the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including early mornings, weekends and holidays and the occasional overnight is required.
