is currently seeking qualified candidates to work at our corporate office, for the following position: Claims Supervisor. The Claims Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers in the Claims Department. They carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The Supervisor also studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and service of the departments.

Job Summary


Fleet Response
is currently seeking qualified candidates to work at our corporate office, for the following position: Claims Supervisor. The Claims Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers in the Claims Department. They carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The Supervisor also studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and service of the departments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes, but is not limited to, the following:


  • Manages day to day operations of the Claims Department.
  • Answers questions and recommends corrective services to address customer complaints or problems.
  • Monitors department to observe employee's demeanor, technical accuracy, and conformity to company policies.
  • Rates productivity of employees and generates information used to staff effectively and assign additional projects.
  • Responsible for continuous education of employees.
  • Screens, interviews and recommends candidates for open positions within the departments.
  • Reviews Exception Reports daily or every other day depending on report.
  • Change or add account parameters as requested by Reps, Clients or Sales Dept.
  • Forward IT requests to Client Services or Project Manager for follow up and completion.
  • Keep Claim Procedures Updated.
  • Takes part in Client Review Meetings.
  • Meet with Reps to discuss workload, concerns, and requests.
  • Communicate with Senior Rep and Team Leader to ensure adequate coverage if a rep is out or needs help completing daily work.
  • Perform Yearly Performance Reviews for all Claims Specialists, Team Leader and Senior Claim Rep.
  • Follow up on comment cards that are escalated from Team Leader or Senior Rep.
  • Assists Sales Rep with client or prospect visits.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior automotive, fleet management, claims management, and vehicle re-marketing experience required. Prior supervisory experience required.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.


TECHNICAL SKILLS: Ability to use computer to access e-mail and the internet. Basic skills in Windows and Microsoft Office. Strong knowledge of mechanics and repairs for automobiles and trucks.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.


The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading..


Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.


Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed clearly and understandably both in person and over telephone.


Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.


Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
