Our program is designed to take someone new to the field and give them the required training and education needed for the required testing to achieve their A&P Certification. Responsibilities
PURPOSE
Our program is designed to document an employee’s experiences and education/training in a format acceptable to the FAA that will allow the employee to take the required Airframe and/or Powerplant test resulting in receiving their A&P Certificate. The FAA accepted Air Carrier’s apprentice qualification training program, benefiting the employee and the Air Carrier, with consideration to professional development, recruitment, retention and transition initiatives. Completing the program will assist employee in meeting FAA eligibility requirements and being better prepared for the FAA Exams.
SCOPEThe apprentice qualification training program is a comprehensive document that records each and all technical tasks performed by an individual to a level of task application acceptable to the FAA. After competent task performance, a certified A&P has the authority to record the individual’s actions, which becomes written proof of practical experience.
Qualifications
GENERAL
Title 14, CFR Part 65. Eligibility is based on documented evidence of practical experience maintaining aircraft airframe and/or powerplant systems; 18 months for either Airframe or Powerplant rating; 30 months for both Airframe and Powerplant ratings. Applicants schedule an appointment with an FAA Airworthiness Safety Inspector (ASI) at the Flight standards District Office (FSFO) to complete an FAA Form 8610-2, Airman Certificate and/or Rating Application and interview process. Eligibility to test is based on documented evidence of experience and outcome of the interview with FAA approval. Applicants must successfully complete all FAA exams to receive FAA A&P certification.
This program is a combination of formal aircraft maintenance training/education and practical aircraft maintenance experience in airframe and powerplant systems to fulfill Title 14 CFR Part 65 eligibility requirements.
