The Purchasing Agent - Electrical is a critical, senior role, perfect for someone with advanced procurement experience, good systems skills, and an ability to think on their feet. WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE: Managing Vendor relations with key suppliers Sourcing for alternate or better options on critical or new materials, improving JIT Improving efficiency and reliability on critical parts and materials (reducing shortages, establishing analytical systems and practices) Interaction with all departments including operations, planners, engineering, project management, production, and clients at times Becoming the SME on breakers, PLCs, and other electrical and electronic components Supporting new product introduction with product launches. Processing purchase requisitions in line with Turnaround Time targets. Provide accurate and timely product delivery information to Planning and Production Maintain and update the ERP system with accurate cost and delivery information. Providing accurate weekly information to vendors. Strategic and tactical Vendor Relationship Management with key vendors, including the recording of savings. THE EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING TO ADD TO THE TEAM: Experience and functional knowledge of electrical components, schematics (Experience with Transformers, breakers and PLCs is a big plus) Ability to work as a team or independently as needed (great problem solving/deductive reasoning skills) Great attitude, adaptable, motivated Ability to use Excel at Intermediate level. Experience with MRP (ERP is preferred) Strong numerical and analytical skills.
