What are the responsibilities and job description for the Midwest Distributor Sales Rep position at FLOOR SOURCE?
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced floor covering salesperson. This is an outside sales position assigned to our Midwest US territory (Indiana, Wisconsin, etc). The sales representative is responsible for growing and developing the sales and margins of the product lines with the distributor network in the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with current customers and potential customers within specific territory
- Assist customers by providing knowledge and training company products to their store personnel, to ensure personnel is able to present product and negotiate well with consumers
- Understand our products, our market competition and how to position products to overcome these factors
- Manage displays, samples, and selling tools
- Have an understanding of distributor business financials to consult with dealers on pricing, advertising, promotions and ROI
- Quote prices, discuss credit terms and sales contracts for orders
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of company’s delivery schedules
- Review and analyze sales/inventory reports to identify sales potential with current customers and potential new customers
- Utilize any and all marketing tools such as product catalogs and websites to broaden reach in territory and promote company product
- Research and analyze customer needs and demands based on market information
- Investigate and resolve customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns and credits
Requirements
- 2 years of flooring industry experience required
- Candidate must have a desire to succeed, be a motivated self-starter with proven sales experience
- Must have the ability to develop new leads by cold calling and making appointments
- Must have experience in identifying opportunities for growth and development
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to present oneself in a highly cooperative and professional manner when meeting customers
- Ability to determine solutions for customers
- Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license
