FLS Transportation is seeking a skilled Application Engineer with Transportation industry experience to assist in defining, developing, testing, and implementing Transportation related systems and integrations that streamline and simplify, sales, operational and back-office processes, and procedures. This position will work closely with strategic areas of the business focusing on improved utilization of implemented solutions and new opportunities for driving efficient operations. The job location can be in Atlanta or Rome, Georgia.
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
- Analyze and Investigate business problems, document solution requirements, and provide procedural and technology-based solutions
Use a combination of standard functionality and custom development to solve business problems and simplify the design of our systems, in a way that is scalable and extensible
- Assist in the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of solutions, improvements, updates, and other integrated solutions
- Coordinate project resources, schedules, issue tracking and vendor relationships as needed
- Provide user and system support acting as an escalation point for the TMS, TMS-Connected Systems and other systems, as necessary.
- Communicate proactively with end users and business partners to ensure problems are clarified, effectively addressed, and resolved with the appropriate priority
- Develop comprehensive system/administrative standards, guidelines, technical configurations and runbooks and operating procedures for admins and support teams
- Assist in definition and implementation of Policies, Standards, Procedures, and Monitoring processes to allow for consistent and secure technology operations
- Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues and/or escalation with third party provided services
- Assist in implementing, auditing, and tracking system security measures needed to safeguard against unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure of information
Qualifications/ & Experience
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent certification or experience;
- 5 years relevant experience as a Systems analyst;
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS);
- Strong operational knowledge of transportation “order to cash” processes;
- Experience supporting and modifying Salesforce applications (Revenova is a plus);
- Keen attention to detail and advanced problem-solving abilities from a procedural, operational and technical perspective;
- Strong project management and time management skills;
- Robust troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and solve problems;
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical users and business owners;
- Familiarity with industry-standard EDI platforms/partners (such as Cleo, Kleinschmidt) is a plus;
- Experience exposing and consuming web services, JSON, REST APIs is a plus;
- Experience with Remote Teams.
