What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Specialist position at FMI Inc?
The Account Specialist provides customer support by assisting with sales procedures. They help with sales-related problems, investigate shipping issues, and manage customer accounts. The successful person in this position will possess the ability to work across organizational levels in a professional manner, with a sense of urgency, and demonstrate exceptional organizational and customer service skills. This position requires the ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Informs customers of stability status of new products
Leads first-time production meetings
Works with customers to create product specifications
Effectively and timely communicates with customers concerning all aspects of their purchase orders
Reviews various reports with customers (Inventory, Needs Report, Component Shortage reports, stability reports, etc.)
Effectively and timely communicates with customers to determine delivery dates of customer-sourced materials and components
Effectively communicates with Production to plan and ensure on-time delivery dates
Leads weekly customer conference calls
Accurately communicates shipping requests and other required information to the Shipping Coordinator
Assists Account Managers in prospecting efforts and activities
Required Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate (speak, read, and write) in English;
Completion of Associates degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a similar and relevant field of study; perferred.
3 years of experience in a customer service, customer-driven environment;
Polished and professional phone skills;
Basic to Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; and
Data entry and functional experience using an ERP system is a plus; Syteline preferred.
