Foliot Furniture in Las Vegas is seeking to hire an HR Generalist to join our local & corporate leadership team.
Reporting to the Corporate Chief global compensation & SIRH based in St-Jérôme, Canada, the HR Generalist will help and contribute to promote the corporate vision in providing human resources guidance on all aspects of the employee life cycle. You will also partner with HR and OHS Corporate Canada Team. It is important the HR and Safety Generalist be a creative problem-solver, ready to identify and analyze challenges as they arise and propose and implement solutions.
Day to day activities - you will work closely with the Receptionist based in Las Vegas, but you will also be collaborating with different corporate partners on a variety of subjects. This position allows you to work with a passionate team, open to ideas, and where you will feel like home!

Primary Duties and responsibilities
HR Duties:
- Provide strategic guidance to managers on HR matters, including performance management, employee relations, talent development and disciplinary issues.
- Collaborate with operational teams to identify staffing needs, develop recruitment and succession plans, and ensure the organization has the right skills at the right time.
- Actively participate in recruitment for the office employee. Collaborate with managers to identify required profiles and key skills.
- Act as a mediator in conflicts between employees and resolve employee relations issues. Ensure HR policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Manage and ensure compliance with country, state, and local requirements. Ensure all company Human Resource policies are applied consistently. Ensure that any litigation raised are responded to in a timely manner.
- Ensure the standard work for application of the Corporate Compensation Philosophy and Processes are applied, including compensation for new hires, promotions, and participate annual compensation planning. Request appropriate approvals on pay decisions and benefit program improvements that are consistent and within the Global Total Compensation Framework.
- Work closely with managers and departments to identify training needs within the company and develop customized training programs based on identified needs.
Safety Duties:
- Create and facilitate health & safety engagement through teams and committees needed to accomplish established targets and objective.
- Prepare and monitor, in collaboration with the HSE director, the HSE action plan.
- Prepare required reports, plans, and other government health & safety filings and ensure timely and accurate submission.
- Participate in incident and accident investigations to identify their causes and how they might be prevented in the future.
- Assists in the coordination and completion of monthly safety inspections, as well as annual training requirements.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Continuous years of progressive experience maybe considered in lieu of degree.
- 2-3 years in a generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing enterprise.
- Experience administering Safety in a manufacturing setting preferred (an asset)
- Fully bilingual, both spoken and written, in English and Spanish.
- PHR, SHRM, HCM Certified (an asset)
- Well-versed in state regulation
- Working knowledge of employment/labor standards, Human Rights legislation & Employment laws.
- The ability to manage change and ambiguity with intellect and pragmatism.
- Well-written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal and project management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines and competing priorities. Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or another HRIS (an asset).
