Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor primarily in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance. The Major Giving Field Advisor will be responsible for soliciting gifts of $15,000 and higher from friends of FFTP. Also manage a portfolio of donors and develop relationships with an emphasis on face-to-face visit. The Major Giving Field Advisor will travel throughout the United States to meet with donors; monitoring projects in progress, and seeing projects that have been completed. Travel time estimated to be approximately 55 - 65%. Ensure all donor interactions encourage positive and purposeful donor engagement. Actively participate in training sessions and seek professional development opportunities. Responsible for working with support team members to develop, prepare, and distribute high-quality and professional communications, reports. Genuine interest in all aspects of serving the poor within the countries and regions we serve.
SKILLS
Minimum of 5-7 years of four and five-figure gift fundraising experience.
- Ability to meaningfully connect donor interests to FFTP’s mission and programs.
- Travel throughout the United States, time estimated to be approximately 55-65%.
- Flexibility to work with and engage with donors when they are available including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Genuine interest in all aspects of serving the poor within the countries and regions we serve.
- Demonstrated ability to respectfully engage with co-workers as equals in all situations.
- Successful experience in making cold calls along with developing and implementing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Pays attention to details.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload, manage and complete multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office applications and donor engagement software.
- Licensed Driver.
- Generate regular reports of activity and progress to management.
- Collaborate with and be a willing resource for other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the VP, Major & Legacy Giving.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent level of education and experience is required. Minimum of 5-7 years of four and five-figure gift fundraising experience.
