What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Food Management Search?
Our client, a complex sheet metal fabricator, is adding an Estimator to their team due to growth! The Estimator will create cost estimates from prints and specifications and will be reporting to the Estimating Manager.
What you will be doing:
- Create cost estimates from prints and specifications, 3D models, and from concept to development data
- Create technical, and commercial conditions related to manufacturability, tolerances, purchased material minimums , tooling and processes
- Coordinate the estimating process with other functions including supply chain, tooling, development center, production, and finance
- Develop cost reduction proposals
- Develop creative design solutions for best cost alternatives
- Communicate with customers to resolve issues during estimating process
- Update estimates upon receipt of change request
- Prepare cost reduced design for manufacturing alternative proposals
- Prepare itemized lists of required tooling
- Prepare the listing of all deviation and exceptions
- Maintain logs of estimates in process, stage of completion and previously completed estimates
What they are looking for:
- Associate's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering with 2 years of related experience OR a Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to calculate figures and estimates
- Hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience is highly desired
- CAD experience
