Forbes is looking for a Data & Insights Lead that is passionate about the intersections of data, revenue, and content. You will be leading a small team of analysts focused on providing data and insights to our editorial and business stakeholders, that will help optimize our content and drive more revenue across the entire business. The ideal candidate has experience working with affiliate data and is curious and enthusiastic about improving key metrics through data. The Data & Insights Lead reports to the Forbes Vetted Executive Director of Data, Revenue, and Product.
This is a remote role with an option to commute to the Jersey City Forbes office if desired.
Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive recommendations to the editorial team to help them drive more revenue.
- Determine a weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence for Insights. Improve insights based on feedback from stakeholders
- Create a system for managing inbound/adhoc requests from stakeholders and ensure quality of analyses provided
- Monitor key performance metrics and understand and communicate why they are changing and how that affects our bottom line.
- Improve existing, and create new, dashboards as needed based on feedback from stakeholders and business needs.
- Help all areas of the team get access to accurate and relevant data about their divisions
- Audit our existing GA events and work with Product & BI to implement additional event tracking to support higher level understanding of how users are interacting with our site
- Work with BI to improve the quality and accessibility of data in Looker
- Manage and develop a small team of analysts
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills and a love for data
- Passionate about sharing information and an ability to explain technical details to non-technical teammates.
- Direct experience with affiliate/eCommerce required
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Gsheets, Looker (or another BI Tool). Python, R, SQL experience a plus
- Preferred: experience working directly with editorial teams, especially when providing data & insights
