In this position...

You will lead our plant engineering and launch teams. Our group consists of four engineering teams with overall responsibility for Central/Industrial engineering, Gear manufacturing, Machining, and Assembly. These teams support budget development, cost savings and Six Sigma projects, provide production support and oversight of constraint management activities. You’ll also have one team dedicated to launch activities.

What you'll do...

  • Lead engineering team development and implementation of continuous improvement projects
  • Collaborate with production areas to develop budget plans
  • Manage all ISO and PPAP requirements for the facility
  • Support constraint activities to improve production performance throughout the facility
  • Validate that the plant launch staffing plan and budget are sufficient to deliver a successful launch
  • Select and develop the plant launch organization
  • Ensure the training of hourly and salaried plant launch team members is on schedule
  • Manage the launch team by providing direction and leadership, prioritizing the day-to-day activities
  • Develop, manage, and deliver a plant launch timing plan and deliverables
  • Participate with ME and Ford Land on final layouts, detailed plans for installation or construction, execution of plans, and buy-off
  • Represent the voice of the plant during launch. Keep the plant informed of the latest launch status and request launch support resources according to priorities
  • Engage plant personnel in virtual builds and early build process of prototypes
  • Ensure operating system (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Maintenance) requirements are implemented
  • Support the daily acceleration build targets until planned JPH is reached
  • Report plant launch status through regular assessments
  • Work and multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Optimize equipment programs and troubleshoot issues to identify root cause

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial or Electrical / Automation engineering
  • 5 or more years’ experience in manufacturing
  • 3 or more years of salary supervisory experience

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial or Electrical / Automation engineering
  • Experience managing multiple shifts
  • Maintenance Experience either as a journeyperson or salaried employee
  • Computer Experience
  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability preferred
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Broad production experience
  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management
  • Strong ability to present in front of senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Ford Production System principles
  • Solid understanding in the use of data for decision making
  • Demonstrated background in machining
  • Experience with gear manufacturing
  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems
  • Work well under pressure and to be able to work under crisis management when necessary
  • Ability to work and multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Ability to optimize equipment programs and troubleshoot issues to identify root cause
  • Must be a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and see them through to completion with limited supervision
