Position Title: LTE (Limited Term Employee) Project Assistant
Reports to: UW-Madison Extension Area 4 Director
FLSA Status:
County Status: Limited Term Employment (up to 15 hours per week April – November)
Pay Grade/Pay Structure: $15-$18

I. Position Summary:

Provides clerical and administrative support for various Extension programs and Community Coalition of Forest County programs and services. Completes general office duties and serves as a point-of-contact for phone, walk-in inquiries and web-based inquiries. Performs related work as required by the Area Extension Director.

II. Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

Extension Programming

- Monitors and assists with online enrollment of 4-H members and volunteers

- Keep track of all members who register for events (regional, statewide, national & international) through 4-Honline

- Keep track of all members who register for our local events through Google Docs.

- Create and distribute bi-weekly email updates

- Create and distribute via mail 4-H monthly newsletter to all 4-H members, community partners and county board supervisors.

- Create and send publicity materials for upcoming 4-H programs/events to area schools, community calendars, press release, libraries, website and other community partners

- Update and maintain Extension website with programming announcements and educational articles.

- Assists the Positive Youth Development Educator in the design, implementation and evaluation of positive youth development programs as time allows

- Other duties as assigned by the Area Extension Director within the scope of responsibility and skill requirements for the job.

Community Coalition of Forest County

- Manage coalition minutes, agendas, etc. on Community Coalition website

- Submit agendas and minutes to the County Clerk office in a timely manner in accordance with CCFC and Forest County policy

- Works with the Coalition officers to post meeting agendas and minutes in accordance with CCFC and Forest County policy

- Assist the CCFC Officers with annual membership letters and roll

- Create and send publicity materials for upcoming Coalition programs/events to area schools, community calendars, press release, libraries, website and other community partners

III. Additional Duties:

- Works with the Area Extension Director to submit agendas and minutes to the County Clerk office in a timely manner in accordance with CCFC and Forest County Policy

- Receptionist – First responder to incoming calls, greet in-person visitors and assist public support duties.

- Public Support –soil testing in-take, and horticulture question referrals

IV. Supervision

Under the direct supervision of the Area Extension Director, who will determine conformance with established procedures, policies, and effective accomplishment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to engage in conversation and is required to speak and listen. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to grasp and place objects. The employee is occasionally required to walk and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or more up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

VI. Minimum Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma or equivalency is required.

Experience: Previous training or experience with computer software including Microsoft and Google Drive is preferred.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of office terminology and procedures. Working knowledge of personal computers and above average keyboarding skills. Possess the ability to make decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, policies and established procedures.

Licenses and Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
