These positions are located on the Chippewa National Forest and Monongahela National Forest.
The incumbent is responsible for identifying, evaluating, interpreting, managing, and/or prescribing treatments for historic buildings, structures, landscapes, and other various cultural resources.

Basic Requirement:
A graduate degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or closely related field with coursework in American architectural history;
Or
A bachelor's degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or closely related field.
AND
1. At least two years of full-time experience in research, writing, or teaching in American architectural history or restoration architecture with an academic institution, historical organization or agency, museum, or other professional institution;
Or
2. Substantial contribution through research and publication to the body of scholarly knowledge in the field of American architectural history.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also possess experience and/or directly related education in the amounts listed below.
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level.Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: Providing technical assistance, consultation, and guidance on heritage issues and projects; and/or identifying, evaluating, and managing historic properties; and/or implementing historic preservation projects.
OR
2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or a related field.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
