Forever 8 is an early-stage financial technology company that analyzes partners with growing e-commerce businesses to buy inventory on the brand’s behalf. As the world shifts increasingly toward a e-commerce first retail landscape, Forever 8 is a modern and innovative funding solution that enables businesses to outsource inventory funding and reinvest time and capital to advertising, sales, new product launches, and growing the brand. Forever 8 was founded in the summer of 2020 and is rapidly expanding beyond it’s small founder-based team and eying substantial growth throughout 2022.
Day-to-day tasks will include a variety of standard HR-related functions from benefits administration to performance management to promotion of diversity. This requires a proactive, tactful, and empathetic leader. One that fully embraces the supporting role they play within the larger team and the challenges that brings. Whether it's prodding managers to complete performance reviews or helping figure out a compensation question, you are the backstop for managers looking for help (or sometimes not realizing they need help) as they deal with thorny issues.
This is a part-time position with an anticipated 20 hour/week average, depending on the time of year (e.g., open enrollment period a bit higher).
As the company's HR representative, you're working to protect the company AND the employees. Making sure the company is compliant with laws and regulations while being the champion for staff members when they need a hand. The ideal candidate shows exceptional judgement balancing competing priorities and helping position the company for long-term success. A keen eye for upcoming challenges and insight into how to avoid problems will stand you in good stead as you participate in planning meetings and help guide the company's strategic growth.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong phone/video/in-person presence, interpersonal and persuasion skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate with diverse individuals or groups
- Strong collaboration and teamwork
- Ability to proactively plan and initiate key tasks
- Comfortable pushing back and guiding managers in the right direction
- Solid knowledge of MS Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Expert knowledge of HR systems (e.g., ADP)
- Effective communication and influence skills
- Strong self-awareness and the ability to adapt behaviors to meet client needs
Job-related Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field (experience may substitute for education requirements)
- 3-5 years of professional experience in HR
- HR certifications a plus but not required
- Experience with labor laws and regulations in Pennsylvania
- Experience with labor laws and regulations in other states strongly preferred
- Experience with labor laws and regulations in the United Kingdom preferred
- Experience managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance
