JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Inventory Control Manager
Reports to: CFO
Company Description Forman Mills is a rapidly emerging chain of factory warehouse superstores selling brand name fashions for the family at discount prices of up to 80% below department store prices. Forman Mill's stores are located in highly populated urban and working-class suburban areas, serving the needs of lower to middle income consumers. The Business has grown from a weekend concession in a flea market to a multi-state big box enterprise. While many other retailers are closing, Forman Mills is expanding. The Inventory Control Manager position is based at the Forman Mills Corporate Office is located in Pennsauken, NJ.
Job Functions:
Manage financial inventory, processes and transactions, including receipts, transfers, intercompany transactions, inventory adjustment, inventory roll forwards, shrink and stock ledger for the Chain
Ensure all inventory adjustments are booked according to Company policy and recognized in the correct period
Review financial month-end on-hand inventory reconciliations for the retail stores and distribution center, month-end shrink reserve balances by store and lower of cost or realizable value quarterly analysis.
Partner closely with business partners to manage, coordinate and implement inventory analysis
Oversee inventory counts and reconcile results to accounting records
Assist with the Annual Audit, including working directly with external auditors and requests
Driver for company’s ongoing critical initiative for inventory integrity
Liaison between Store Operations, Distribution Center/Supply chain, Allocations, Buying, and Senior Management
Execute periodic cycle counts, including selection, results summary, issue identification and resolution
Perform periodic testing of inventory valuations, including weighted average costing, margin analysis
Coordinate and manage the annual physical inventory for all Stores and the Distribution Center
Requirements:
BS degree in Accounting/Finance
5 plus years comparable experience in a Multi Location Retail Company
Ability to learn multiple operating systems simultaneously.
Attention to detail and accuracy required.
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, heavy concentration in Excel).
Working knowledge of Aptos and Highjump preferred
Ability to analyze, solve problems, and report findings.
Can effectively communicate across multiple channels.
Able to work irregular or extended hours, including weekends and nights when needed.
