What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaping Specialist position at Formosa Winery?
Tuesday - Friday 7:00 - 3:00, or 32 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The majority of the job consists of physical labor, edging, mowing, and weed-eating.
- Handles general maintenance of landscape in a sustainable winery and orchard, to include planting beds, orchard, roadside, vineyard, patio, and fountains.
· Maintain landscape through mowing, weeding, mulching, plant installation and removal, and pruning.
· Harvesting of produce from orchard and gardens.
· Operate gas powered equipment including zero-turn mower, blowers, edger, line trimmers, and hedge trimmers. Maintenance experience of equipment a plus.
· Significant portion of this position will consist of weed control through mechanical, manual, and chemical means.
· Lawn mowing to include use of both push mower and zero-turn riding mower.
· Practice safe chemical handling as prescribed on the labels and in the Material and Safety Data Sheets.
· Communicates with team members effectively.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
- Knowledge on landscape equipment maintenance, bee keeping, irrigation, and tropical fruits, a plus.

· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must be able to kneel, bend, squat, climb, push, stoop, and crouch repeatedly.
· Must be able to work and operate in summer weather for extended periods as required by job duties.
· Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Adheres to the Company policy in addition to my regular duties it is my duty to being aware while on the property of anything that looks suspicious and reporting it, remaining security conscious at all times, and protecting Winery guests and fellow employees’ property. It is my responsibility to always report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or suspicious persons immediately to my supervisor, department head, or general manager.
