What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Stack Engineer position at forREAL?
Be part of the first engineering team at a real-estate tech startup out of MIT that is going to disrupt the long-term rental market. We are modernizing the process of validating, browsing, visiting, and renting apartments - starting in Boston. This is a full-time, on-site, role at our office in downtown Danvers, MA.
We are looking for 2 well rounded, full-stack, engineers to join our team that reports directly to the CTO. There are 4 general roles, but an ideal team will be comprised of members that can cross over with overlapping skills.
iOS: You will use SwiftUI to build a mobile-first application for tenants and property owners. The app will feature rich media, including high resolution photos, videos, and 3D content. ARKit, RealityKit, and RoomPlan are some of the key SDKs that power the 3D capture and presentation features that set our app apart from the competition.
UI/UX: Our app and website not only need to look beautiful but be functional and efficient for a wide audience. From digital native renters who do everything on their phone, to property owners who are more comfortable with in-person showings and stacks of paper. You will work with customers to understand their needs and engineers to implement the designs. If you are a hand-on designer that can code as well, that is a big plus.
Backend/Database: This role focuses on storing and retrieving the data that powers the app. Design and implement a relational database and build API endpoints to update and access information related to properties, landlords, and tenants. Our solution leverages 3D data that will be collected, classified, and optimized to extract features and provide a virtual tour experience.
3D/AI: This role focuses on analyzing and optimizing 3D models of physical properties. Our users will be capturing 3D scans through our app, which will then be processed by your code. You will be responsible for extracting data that can be used to categorize features of interest and compute information about the property, such as the square footage of a given room. We will also be exploring novel visualization techniques, such as gaussian splatting, to enable prospective tenants to walk through properties from anywhere in the world.
