What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM DIR position at Forrest General Hospital?

 

Job Summary: 

Under the supervision of Pine Grove’s Director of Business Development, the Program Director is responsible for the overall supervision and daily operations of Pine Grove’s Admissions Department. The Program Director is responsible for the administrative and clinical supervision of assigned staff; assists with referral development and marketing initiatives, and follows-up with staff and ancillary programs in the Forrest Health system where Pine Grove provides initial screenings with patients. The Program Director also oversees the Registration and Business Office functions of Pine Grove’s Inpatient department. This includes making sure that pre-certifications are completed timely with appropriate follow-ups and employees are educated and held accountable for collections on admission. Also responsible for ensuring adequate documentation on the assessments of assigned staff to support the recommended level of care.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide clinical interviews and provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served; possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Is knowledgeable regarding Salesforce software and demonstrates an ability to use it effectively and direct staff in its use. Also uses an electronic medical record for entering and reviewing patient documentation. Analyzes data related to assessments, referral sources, and admissions and drives the team to reach goals and make appropriate improvements. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to appropriately and professionally communicate and interact with outside agencies including other hospitals and treatment facilities, with medical/nursing staff and with patients, families and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Works in conjunction with the Directors of Pine Grove’s treatment programs to ensure the clinical integrity of assessment skills, and to make clinically appropriate admissions decisions according to the health care needs of the patient. This position works to establish and maintain positive relationships with all Pine Grove stakeholders.  Participates in all designated Pine Grove and Forrest Health meetings; coordinates monthly staff meetings. Completes any other duties as assigned.

Demonstrates the ability to complete all required trainings and/or certifications and attend all required meetings.

 

Demonstrates the ability to be flexible with changing priorities; able to tolerate high stress situations / mental demands and make decisions that are ethically and legally sound.

 

Demonstrates the ability to understand and adhere to all professional boundary standards set forth by the Administration of Pine Grove and Forrest Health.

 

Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with Pine Grove’s Business Development team and the organization’s clinical treatment teams.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Skills          

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related health care field from an accredited school is required.

 

 

Work Experience:       

Two years of full-time clinical experience is required. Supervisory experience is preferred.

                                   

 

Certification/Licensure:          

Current licensure to practice in Mississippi and certification in area of expertise required.

 

 

Mental Demands:       

Must have a high energy level and be capable of handling high pressure situations.  Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others and demonstrate leadership and initiative.
