What are the responsibilities and job description for the CRDT BAL COORD position at Forrest Health?
To ensure the timely handling and distribution of credit balances. Responsible for sending explanation of benefits to insurance companies as requested. In performance of these duties, this role will be responsible for and include, but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for reviewing credit balance accounts; making proper adjustments and refunding the correct party or parties.
- Responsible for averaging a standard quantity and value of accounts each day.
- Review questionable payments involving credits.
- Will use the systems and tools available to effectively and efficiently work credit balances.
- Will refund third parties in compliance with their specific regulations (i.e. Medicaid-Adjustment Void Form, and Medicare-Quarterly Report) and accurate refund request for insurance and patient refunds.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Performance Expectations:
- Maintain credit balance equivalent A/R Days for Self-Pay at or below 0.65
- Maintain credit balance equivalent A/R Days for Insurance at or below 0.65
- Submit all 3rd party payor refund requests within payor contract terms 100% of the time
- Provide backup documentation for weekly refunds to Manager by 10am each Wednesday
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
Experience in a hospital setting or physician office preferred. Experience operating a personal computer and calculator accurately. Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
None required.
Mental Demands:
Oral and written communication skills are important to relate to hospital personnel, patients, and other third parties. Must have basic math skills to perform calculations for insurance analysis and proration
Work Location:
This position offers both in-office work and telecommuting work from home. Ample workspace will be provided by FGH for office work. Appropriate telecommuting work environment includes but is not limited to:
- High speed internet service provided by the employee
- Desktop space to accommodate laptop, two (2) monitors, keyboard, mouse and paper
- Private area/room without interruption
Acknowledgement of FGH-issued equipment that remains the property of FGH and shall be returned undamaged in the event employment is terminated
Salary : $33,700 - $42,700
