What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN- Monday-Friday position at Forrest Health?
The RN performs under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Manager and is delegated an assignment by the Manager to achieve quality patient care. The RN Staff Nurse shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with the Patient Care Manager as evidenced by documentation in Patient Care Record, direct observation by the Patient Care Manager and patient evaluations of care. The RN is responsible to the Patient Care Manager for patient care and ultimately accountable to the Patient Care Manager. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrate technical aptitude for dealing with and troubleshooting multiple pieces of
equipment to include but not limited to IV pump, PCA pump, SCD, cold therapy machine,
Doppler, code cart/defibrillator, heart monitor, suction machine, glucose monitor, manual and
automatic blood pressure machine, electronic thermometer, medication cabinet, patient bed, call
light, telephone, computer, printer, scanner, and fax.
- Demonstrates the ability to tolerate physically demanding tasks of moving equipment and
patients utilizing safety measures for both yourself and/or patient.
- Demonstrate ability to implement the nursing process appropriately, effectively and
promptly to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of each patient as
evidenced by documentation in Patient Care Record, direct observation by Patient Care
Manager, and patient evaluation of care.
- Demonstrates ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, set priorities, and function under stress.
- Provide a detailed overview to the patient regarding the scheduled surgery which should include the pre-evaluation analysis, the pre-operative process day of surgery, and the post-operative care.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and competence of recovering a patient post-anesthesia while implementing a systematic and continuous assessment to determine when criteria are met to move to the next level of care.

- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience:
One year critical or bedside nursing care required. Pre-op or PACU nursing care preferred, but not
required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
