What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN-OUTPATIENT position at Forrest Health?
Under the supervision of the Cath Lab Manager/ Patient Care Coordinator/Cath Lab Director and in accordance with approved policy, the Outpatient Cath Lab Nurse is responsible for quality patient care of patients before and after any Cath Lab procedure. The Outpatient Cath Lab nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients undergoing Cath Lab procedures. The Cath Lab Outpatient Nurse functions as part of the Outpatient Cath Lab team performing pre-op screening/lab collection, preparation for procedure, monitoring and performing patient care post procedure, and discharge teaching/documentation. Accepts other responsibilities as are delegated by the Manager/PCC/Director to assure optimum patient care. . Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.

- Demonstrate the ability to care for patients throughout the pre-procedure and post-procedure phases of care
- Successfully complete the Moderate Sedation Certification class along with ACLS and demonstrate the aptitude for safely administering moderate sedation along with identifying and treating any potential related complications
- Demonstrate the ability to safely remove arterial sheaths and competent groin management.
- Demonstrate technical aptitude for dealing with and troubleshooting multiple pieces of Cath Lab equipment including but not limited to EKG monitoring, hemodynamic monitors, hemochron, Doppler
- Demonstrate the ability to competently monitor telemetry patients post PCI/device including completion of the coronary care class offered in education.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience:
Cardiac/Telemetry experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
