C.N.A Tech – Float - Under the direction and guidance of the nurse, the C.N.A Tech provides patient care and other clerical tasks within their scope of practice on all nursing units. This position must be flexible.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Provides holistic care with assisting the patient in activities of daily living, including ambulating, and transferring, patient safety, comfort measures, and treatments within the scope of practice and departmental guidelines.
- Attentive to patient and family needs by monitoring and responding to call lights and performing rounding.
- Demonstrates excellence and professionalism in communication while working in collaboration with multiple disciplines.
- Reports concerns, data and abnormal findings to the RN.
- Maintains patient records, assists with transferring of patient records, registration, charge audits and birth certificate data entry.
- Documents care provided and data elements required in the medical record. Maintains patient records in accordance with the status of the patient (inpatient, observation, and same day care) while working with computers efficiently and accurately.
- Assists with admission and discharge process.
- Responsible for ordering and restocking of inventory.
- Maintains safe and clean environment for patient and department.
- Uses time efficiently with ongoing communication with House Supervisor to determine highest priority needs throughout the facility.
Requirements for this position include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of skills inventory within orientation period
- Nursing Assistant certification from the State of Wisconsin upon hire BLS certification; must be current on Wis. Nurse Aide registry
