Assists in creating and maintaining a strong brand representing Fort Wayne Community Schools is an important part of the marketing strategy. The district’s brand is key influencer on the perception of FWCS in the community. The Brand Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the proper use and integrity of FWCS brand components, as well as the planning, development and implementation of a marketing plan.


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications or public relations
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, brand management or related experience
  • Extensive experience with various social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo and TikTok.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clear understanding of web and social media best practices, including how to implement them.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, as well as an ability to collect and interpret data, providing recommendations based on these insights.
  • Experience with Google AdWords, Adobe suite, Microsoft Suite, InDesign and other graphic design software
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent content needs.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.


  • Assist in development of short- and long-range high-impact marketing plan, including promotional, and advertising plans and strategies.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to ensure coordination of content and messaging.
  • Assist in development of marketing messages/strategies, collateral, signage, digital assets and social media presence that are relevant, mission appropriate, and effective.
  • Act as an ambassador of FWCS brands and ensure consistency across the district and across platforms.
  • Collaborate with Director in design of FWCS website to ensure it follows the FWCS brand and marketing plan.
  • Assist in development of metrics for ROI regarding marketing campaigns, FWCS website and other strategies as needed.
  • Work in conjunction with FWCS schools and departments on student and staff recruiting campaigns.
  • Assist in planning, developing, posting and monitoring social media content on FWCS social media channels.
  • Create content for district video monitors.
  • Work with schools to ensure school signs updated regularly.
  • Organize annual Principal for a Day event to ensure all schools have a guest principal.
  • Work with schools and departments on logo redesign, development and implementation.
  • Organize and prioritize projects in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Operate designated computer systems, specialized software and peripheral equipment to create a variety of graphic designs and layouts
  • Develop and prepare final art brochures, forms, newsletters, posters, tickets, logos and a variety of other materials for the District.
  • Collaborate with other departments, units, and outside agencies to coordinate project involving graphic design.
  • Assist District staff with the planning development and lay-out of desktop publishing projects and related specifications.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.29 - $27.53 per hour
