Metallurgical Lab Technician

Forte Analytical, a northern Colorado based engineering firm, is seeking a metallurgical technician to assist our engineers in a laboratory setting. This person will work with our engineers and lab manager to focus on general mineral processing testing for mine development and enhancement projects.

Summary of Duties / Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):

• Conduct sample preparation and basic metallurgical, geotechnical and geochemical testing

• Assist engineering staff with other testing needs

• Provide testing insight and recommendations for testing modifications

• Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment

• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards

• Able to wear mandatory safety equipment (safety shoes and respirator)

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs., repeatedly, as needed

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Understanding of basic math and chemistry required

• Comprehension of Microsoft Suite of programs (Excel, Word, Project)

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in science related field preferred

Experience Requirements:

• 0-2 years of experience in a related field is preferred

• Able to read and understand written procedures and standard operation procedures

• Able to work safely with hazardous chemicals

Salary: $36,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
