Fortis Institute located at Port St. Lucie has a current opening for a Simulation Coordinator. Fortis Institute is affiliated with Education Affiliates a company with approximately 50 post-secondary schools nationwide, with over 20 of these locations offering nursing programs. These schools are known as Fortis College, Fortis Institute, Denver School of Nursing and St. Paul's School of Nursing. Our programs range from practical nursing to BSN degrees.
Position Description:
The Simulation Coordinator collaborates with faculty to provide for consistent, consecutive and relevant student learning experiences to meet course and clinical objectives in the simulation lab. This person designs, develops, implements and evaluates scenarios, simulated learning activities and educational materials for all NUR courses in collaboration with nursing faculty, staff and other users of the simulation lab. Ensures supervision of students in the lab, while maintaining safe practices and abiding by all established policies and procedures for the lab. Support the development of the program's philosophy, objectives, conceptual framework, curriculum, policies, and assure fulfillment of standards of the Board of Nursing and other regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Unencumbered state licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of a BSN; MSN, PhD or DNP desired.
- Minimum of one year of didactic or clinical nursing teaching experience.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Current clinical nursing knowledge and ongoing maintenance of clinical competency.
- Classroom and clinical experience in academia.
- Minimum of three years of recent clinical experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, written and oral.
- Good organizational skills.
