Data & Reporting Analyst

Position Summary: Fortitude Re seeks a Data and Reporting Analyst as we continue to build a world-class organization. The successful candidate will be high energy, results oriented, capable of thinking outside of the box and willing to roll up their sleeves to drive business impact in a fast-paced environment. This analyst will be expected work across the various teams within in the Operations group. Success in this role will require excellent analytical and research skills and experience managing information and data to be used to effectively manage business operations and drive strategic decisions.   Responsibilities: Collaborate and communicate with other data professionals and upper management to coordinate projects Act as a resource for staff as needed in data support and report building and analysis and developing presentation material Develop new or analyze current reports and identify areas for improvement efficiency / automation with creating best practices in mind Support audits, testing, operation enhancement projects, and other ad hoc requests as requiredAssist in preparing the various schedules and analysis necessary to audit the gross to net balances between Ceding Companies and Fortitude Re as reflected in the quarterly settlement processAnalyze and report on reinsurance business financials including loss trends by treaty and facultative placementsSupport Fortitude Re management in compiling and consolidating data to build analytical reports for corporate management and staffAssist with solution strategies for business requirements, enhancement requests and defect fixes. Identify, develop and deliver business and technical solutions to customer satisfactionAssist with managing portfolio of sourcing engagements, track savings and spend vs. contractsBuild effective working relationships with all stakeholders; execute against agreed-upon commitments to deliver success   Job Requirements: 0-2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Technologies, Business Administration, or Economics preferred Highly motivated and drivenStrategic and analytical problem solving skillsAbility to work at a fast pace and/or handle shifting prioritiesAbility to deliver results under time pressureGood mathematical, oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to lead projects for departmental goalsAbility to understand processes in a larger context to look for improvements and efficiencies Ability to work with cross functional teams in a matrixed organizationUnderstand business applications and how they are used by our business users including: processes, enhancement opportunities, interfaces to/from other systems, overall architecture and deployment frameworkExperience with big data tools and relevant software; knowledge of effective business practices and systems
