What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President, Asset Liability Management position at Fortitude Re?
Job Duties: Determine and develop asset strategies to support insurance liabilities and investable surplus. Develop and maintain Fortitude Re’s investment plan based on its strategic asset allocation, guiding Fortitude Re’s asset managers to execute such asset strategies. Collaborate with portfolio management team and asset managers to oversee the execution of ALM strategy and monitor key ALM risks. Develop advanced and scalable analytics to oversee ALM strategies across the business. Monitor performance and portfolio risk. Communicate investment activities to executive management, the Board of Directors, investment committee, regulators and other interested parties. Play an essential role in the pricing and due diligence of potential new busines acquisitions. Position based in Jersey City, NJ. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in insurance asset management, fixed income asset management, or liability driven investing.
Must have 7 years of experience in each of the following:
Analyzing complex liability cash flows features and developing associated investment and risk management strategies;
Analyzing large data sets;
Presenting information to senior management; and,
Developing ALM strategies for new business and new liability features.
Must possess CFA or FSA credentials. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position based in Jersey City, NJ. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
