Rebar Shop Employee
Rebar Shop Employee: This is a staff position within Foster Supply, Inc. The Rebar Shop Employee assists in fabricating rebar projects in the Rebar Shop. This employee is responsible for ensuring jobs are completed on-time and meet customer specifications. The Rebar Shop Employee reports directly to the Rebar Shop Foreman.

PHYSICAL
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time while operating fabricating equipment and other machinery.
BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands to finger, handle, and feel objects such as small tools. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed are also required.
BODY SENSES: The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include color perception, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to analyze the quality of the work performed.
STRENGTH: The employee must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be working primarily in a shop environment, and will also require the employee to be outdoors on a frequent basis when inventorying product and loading trucks. From this movement, the employee will encounter varying temperatures including extreme heat, heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with snow conditions.
AUTHORITY
The Rebar Shop Employee is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities assigned so long as such action does not deviate from established corporate policy and is consistent with sound business judgment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary functional duties and responsibilities of the Rebar Shop Employee include:
Keep the Rebar Shop Foreman apprised of all rebar shop activities
Assist the Rebar Shop Foreman in maintaining the rebar production schedule daily to achieve maximum pounds fabricated per man hour while completing expedited customer orders on-time
Assist in training new Rebar Shop Employees in company operating standards
Assist in performing preventive maintenance and safety checks on all equipment as required; keep the Rebar Shop Foreman informed of any equipment requiring outside service
Ensure all customers are satisfied with the quality of our work and the overall company experience
Assist in enforcing the Company’s safety policies
Recommended measures to improve production efficiency, product quality, and safety
Other duties and tasks as may be assigned by the Rebar Shop Foreman
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
The Rebar Shop Employee shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:
The Rebar Shop Foreman is kept apprised of activities in the company
Fabrication jobs are completed at a 95% on-time completion rate or better
Rebar production meets or exceeds budgeted pounds per man hour as set in the company operating budget
Shop equipment and machinery is properly maintained to schedule to avoid unplanned major maintenance
The Rebar Shop is kept clean and clear of debris
There are no injuries or accidents involving the employees in the rebar shop
Measures are researched and recommended to improve departmental efficiency, product quality, and safety
Subjectively, by the morale of the employees (relating to the performance of the Rebar Shop Employee) within the company
Other tasks assigned by the Rebar Shop Foreman are performed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner
The level of perceived satisfaction the rebar shop foreman has in performance of employee
Number of days late or not present when scheduled
List of Requirements to work for Foster Supply:
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must also have transportation to workplace.
- Foster Supply is a drug free workplace, and job applicants will be required to take a drug test.
