DESCRIPTION: The Sales Engineer for Staking is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the VP, Business Development, Staking, the Sales Engineer will be the expert in the room on the protocols for which they are responsible. They will advise prospects, clients, and Foundry team members on the communities, tokenomics, unlocks, staking environment, developer environment, airdrops, and overall roadmap of their respective protocols; and find creative ways to maximize returns and opportunities for Foundry and our clients. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Becoming an expert on a minimum of 8-10 protocols, their environments, their communities, their roadmaps, airdrops, etc.
- Advising the Foundry engineering team, sales team, product team, marketing team and executive team on relevant topics as they pertain to your protocol areas of expertise
- Advising prospects, clients, and other players within the DCG family of the same
- Interacting with the respective protocol communities in a professional way befitting Foundry and DCG
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Participate in initial sales calls and advise as necessary on your respective protocols
- Participate in onboarding and maintaining of clients and client relationships
- Advise the engineering team on protocols
- Write quick, easily digestible summaries of protocols and keep them up to date for internal and external purposes
- Interact with protocol communities to stay abreast of events
- Interact with marketing to produce relevant content associated with sales and your role
Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Advanced understanding of blockchain technology and how it works
- Solid understanding of the crypto ecosystem
- Ability to break down complex situations and technical projects into easily understandable narratives
- Must be professionally conversant – able to answer questions quickly and accurately and to provide relevant insight and advice to decision makers
- This position will deal with a wide combination of both software and hardware products, so you need to be versatile, autodidactic, and adaptable
- Does not necessarily need to have an explicit development background, but must have a good understanding of how the technology stack interacts within the ecosystem, including the underlying languages
