Medical Assistant
Location: White Plains, NY
We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to join our team at Fountain Life to work as part of an integrated care team including nurses, nutrtitionists, health coaches, care coordinators and led by a longevity physician. The medical assistant will work closely with the physician to support optimal care of our members. This position is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience in a team-based environment while assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician. This position is responsible for the collection, communication and documentation of accurate patient information/data and maintaining medical records according to regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures. The medical assistant will provide patient instructions as directed by the physician. Other responsibilities include coordinating requests for information, prescriptions, tests, and procedures and support of lab collection and diagnostics as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation and filing of clinical records in the electronic health record.
Assisting physician to capture and implement medical plans for members.
Creating supplement orders through online dispensary.
Management of prescription requests under the supervision of a physician and medication reconciliation.
Collection of results from diagnostic laboratory portals.
Functional Expertise:
Proficient in medical terminology.
HIPAA compliance certification.
Strong multi-tasking skills. Attention to details even under pressure.
Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Documentation management and ability to use electronic health records.
Experience using diagnostic portals.
Ability to work with strict confidentiality requirements, as well as utilize good judgment in the preparation and distribution of confidential information.
People Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for strong customer relationships.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree and previous MA experience
2 years clinical experience in a physician’s office or ambulatory setting in lieu of degree/diploma
CCMA or RMA preferred.
