Lead English Instructor/Faculty

Fox College, located in Tinley Park, Illinois, is seeking a Lead English Instructor for in-person instruction. Our ideal candidate has experience in higher education in both teaching and leadership. We’re looking for a candidate who is excited about education, and who is passionate about helping the college provide a positive experience for every student.

The mission of Fox College is to combine general education and professional education in applied programs that prepare motivated students for success in their specialized careers. All responsibilities of the Lead English Instructor should be carried out with this mission in mind. Responsibilities may include:

Educational Responsibilities: Instructing all general education courses related to english and communication. Ensure that general education faculty are enhancing student learning by meeting and assessing all course objectives. Responsible for fostering and maintaining high-quality instruction for the benefit of our students. Assess the general education curriculum in response to HLC and IBHE guidelines for knowledge and skills in appropriate content areas. Counsel and advise students including student concerns related to academics, policies, mentoring, and tutoring.

Leadership Responsibilities: Assist in leading other general education faculty to foster a culture of student success and educational achievement. Foster professional development and growth for all team members. Support the mission of Fox College. Mentor full-time and part-time faculty.

Professional Growth Responsibilities: Participate in a number of institutional committees to foster student success, including the General Education Committee, the Institutional Effectiveness Planning Committee, and Professional Education Committee. Organize and facilitate faculty development.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• A minimum of a Master’s degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with an english major or a Master's degree plus 18 graduate credit hours in English courses
• At least 2 years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-secondary level
• A positive attitude
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Great communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
