Our ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have strong attention to detail, and demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills.  As Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the company’s financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will also lead an accounting and payroll team while managing third-party partner engagements (e.g., audit partners, consulting/contractors, etc.)

The responsibilities and duties of this position described here are representative; this is not a comprehensive list, and other duties may be assigned. 

• Guide a strong accounting team by developing our Accounting Manager and Payroll Manager and their teams by helping to organize responsibilities that align with business needs and individuals' interests
• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including all accounting functions, payroll, and treasury
• Oversee our month-end and annual close process, ensure a scalable, efficient, and accurate close process, and continuously seek areas of improvement
• Produce financial statements per US GAAP and related internal financial reports
• Overseeing the preparation and filing of the businesses' various tax filings with external tax partners
• Improve and maintain controls to safeguard company assets through documenting and recommending improvements to financial policies and procedures
• Lead Foxtrot's annual audit with external auditors
• Collaborate and interact with Operations, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Development, and People teams to foster effective partnerships and surface financial insights
• Evaluate new and existing accounting tools and act as an administrator in NetSuite, Ramp, and Bill.com
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting operations, recommending improvement, and implementing new processes

•  BS in Accounting, CPA

• 8 years of accounting experience with high-growth retail or technology companies
• A demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams with at least five years of management experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting policies, and compliance
• Administrator-level experience in NetSuite and Coupa
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Domo
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a focus on team development
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels of the organization and vendors
• Learner and problem-solver who isn't afraid to take on new challenges, and question the status quo, all  while knowing when to ask for help
• Results-oriented, with a track record of scaling, leading, and driving efficiencies
