What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sourcing Specialist position at FPC of Raleigh?
We have been engaged by a $20M privately held manufacturer of specialized refrigeration technology to assist in building a new centrally lead Sourcing organization. Our client is a well-established leader in their field and is positioned for continued growth both strategically and Financially. This is a newly created executive position and will be an integral part of the company’s leadership team.
The Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for all sourcing/procurement in support of the company’s Manufacturing and Operations. A key element of this position will be to ensure that components and parts, necessary for production and fulfilment of customer orders, are available and delivered on time to Production. Performance will be measured also cost savings and inventory rotation targets. This individual must be a strong leader, communicator, consensus builder, and take a business partnership approach in dealing with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Effectively MRP/ERP systems to balance customer sales with raw materials and parts supply while achieving inventory annual rotations targets.
- Research and selection of alternative and best suppliers
- Measure suppliers’ KPI such as quality, lead-times, on time deliveries, total cost of procurement
- Monitor the flows of buy items, guarantee availability of components to avoid material shortages and production downtime.
- Identify cost savings opportunities
- Mitigate and minimize shipping costs and expediting fees and other expenses with suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve scheduling conflicts, inventory discrepancies, material shortages, and any other material, purchase and inventory issue.
- Cooperate with Engineering for new product implementation and mitigate risk of inventory product obsolescence.
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a Sourcing role
- Good understanding of Production Programming and Scheduling
- Ability to read blueprints is required
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally occasionally to visit suppliers and sister companies
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require now or in the future
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
